Sustainability and quality
We are committed to being a customer-oriented company, and “the craftsman’s best friend” is our motto at Purus.
This means that we value the wishes and requirements of our customers – all the way from the specification stage through to distributors, installers and end-users. Everyone should feel confident that our products and services contribute to enhancing the projects and business operations of all involved parties.
Eco-design and recycled materials
At Purus, our ambition is to always provide high-quality products which bring joy for many years while also being environmentally friendly. Our goal is to offer solutions that have significantly longer lifespans than the average bathroom or kitchen.
When designing and developing new products, we approach projects with a circular mindset, following an eco-design guide. This means that we strive for minimal environmental impact, such as in the choice of raw materials and packaging.
We also focus on eco-design and the use of recycled materials throughout the product development, manufacturing, distribution, and product usage processes.
We constantly strive to do more with less. For example, by purchasing raw materials in customised sizes according to the most common product dimensions, we can minimise waste. Any leftover materials are recycled, with stainless steel sheets melted down for reuse in the production of new raw materials, and various polymer scraps recycled into new plastic granules.
Made in Sweden
Our production units in Sweden provide us with favourable conditions for reducing our environmental impact. We have strict environmental regulations in our country and well-established recycling systems.
As a customer, you may primarily benefit from shorter transportation distances to your location and the ability to customise a large part of our product range according to your needs.
Of course, our operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmental requirements. In most cases, you can also receive assistance with environmental assessments for products involved in larger projects with specific environmental criteria, such as the (Building Materials Assessment) Byggvarubedömningen or (Healthy Homes) Sunda Hus. Please contact Purus’ customer service/sales department for more information.
APPROVED PRODUCTS
Our products are largely approved by a third-party organisation, commonly referred to as type-approved. This entails both testing during the application process and ongoing evaluations by an external party. For our Swedish products, it involves type approvals from Rise and manufacturing control by DTI.
COLLABORATIONS FOR ENHANCED KNOWLEDGE AND CUSTOMER SAFETY
Purus contributes to the industry’s development in reducing the occurrence of handling errors and the risk of water damage through development projects, training, and dissemination of information. We are members of various organisations, including the Tile Association, the National Flooring Industry Organisation, and Secure Water Installation, which means that our products comply with the industry regulations for Secure Water (Säker vatten) Installation.
ISO 9001 AND 14001
Our production units have well-established environmental and quality management systems that meet the requirements of internationally accepted standards SS-EN ISO 14001:2015 and SS-EN ISO 9001:2015.
Environmental and quality issues are a matter of concern and responsibility for all Purus employees. This responsibility is ensured through training, information sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Our processes and procedures enable more efficient business planning, increased utilisation of modern technology, reduced dependence on fossil fuels, and influence over and demands on our suppliers to ensure the most efficient use of resources.
This approach helps us to stay proactive and continuously improve. With nearly 80 years of experience in the industry, we constantly strive to enhance our position, ensuring that you, as a customer, always feel confident in choosing Purus.
